In the Light of a Setting Sun: Tombstone Edition
A downloadable TTRPG
In the Light of a Setting Sun is an adventuring tabletop roleplaying game for western adventures; take on the role of a Cowpoke, a fighter who must rely on their gumption to make their way in an uncaring world. Tombstone Edition builds off of the remains of previous editions, while adding a number of new mechanics and resources for Judges.
Play with it, ruminate on it, improve it.

This game kills fascists!

"I haven’t spoken since I left the beautiful Wyoming ranges; the Tombstone edition of In the Light of a Setting Sun is worth breaking my vow of silence."
- M. Dolor
"A brilliant, quick draw Western ruleset arming you with everything you need to play exciting and dangerous campaigns across rolling landscapes. I particularly love the Renown mechanic and how it ties into duels and the likeliness of your character dying. Elixirs offer otherworldliness and the whole set of simple rules sings the old songs of the genre."
- Marco Serrano, Spicy Tuna RPG
"The engine of this game is cleaner than it has any right to be - much cleaner than the dusty frontier towns it depicts. The writing is sparse, but that is a feature, not a bug - you don't have to hack apart paragraphs to find the rules you need and there's just enough hint of an implied setting that it feels generative as opposed to choking and restrictive. I meant to spend several days reading through it but I breezed through the text in a single evening, visions of gunfighters in my head."
- James from Crumbling Keep

Can you elaborate as to the differences between the different versions? I feel like you must've somewhere but I don't know where. I see this, the Tombstone Edition, and I also see Bonanza and Saddlebag editions.
Shifts in tone and mechanics as I grew as a games writer. The original pamphlets and Saddlebag edition definitely read as first attempts, whereas Bonanza edition reads as someone gaining their footing. Tombstone edition is the culmination of six years of work and reflects that. It has some mechanics from previous versions, as well as some new mechanics I felt needed to be included.
Here's a fun read-through that Todd over at Hexed Press did:
